Common Customer Questions

Here are some questions we are most frequently asked. If your query is not answered on this page, please contact us directly.

Why book with Entertain Etc?

Only the most reliable, experienced and professional acts are represented exclusively by Entertain Etc. However, the acts listed on the entertain-etc.com have been reviewed by our team to ensure that their profile provides as true a representation of the service that they provide.  Profile include a biography, show information, set-list, picture(s) and where possible audio and/or video examples. entertain-etc.com provides live entertainment for countless functions, special occasions and event.  We at Entertain Etc pride ourselves on providing the highest level of service throughout the entire duration of a booking.

Is it possible to see an act before book?

We are unable to guarantee access to see any of our acts perform live prior to confirming a booking. This is generally because our acts primarily perform at private events such as weddings, birthday parties and corporate functions with no public access. However, we do hold a small number of public events throughout the year, which may showcase the act you are interested in. Our acts are happy to provide further audio and/or video examples of their performances (if available). But, if you require the act to provide a tailored recording, this service may incur an additional fee.

What is included in the quoted price

The price we quote for an act is inclusive of all extra costs including travel, PA, performance and service fee (unless stated otherwise)

How do I confirm a booking and pay?

1.     Contact Booking Consultant - Once you confirm that you wish to book the selected act, your consultant will recheck and confirm the entertainer’s availability.
2.     Return your Contract - Once your consultant has issued a contract and invoice, you will be required to sign and return your documents.
3.     Make Payment - Once you have signed and returned your booking contract you will be required to make either a deposit or full payment depending on the time-frame of your booking.
4.     Booking Confirmation - Once your consultant has received both booking contract and payment you will be sent a receipt and contact details for the entertainer so that you can have a quick chat if you desire.

What happens if an act cannot make it on the day?

In the very unlikely event that an act is taken ill or is unable to attend your event, the act in question would usually find a 'dep' act to replace them or take the place of a missing member. For instance, if a solo artist or entire band was unable to attend your event, we will do our best to find a suitable replacement act. Rest assured that any replacement act provided by Entertain Etc will be 100% reliable, experienced and professional.

How much space does an act need and what are their power requirements?

A designated performance space of approximately 14ft wide x 10ft deep (4m x 3m) is sufficient for most 4/5-piece acts. For smaller acts such as a solo or duo, performance space can be flexible. A raised stage can greatly enhance the impact an act will make, but this is not essential. Live music acts and DJs would also need a safe power supply (two standard double power sockets, preferably one either side of the stage).

Will the act need a sound-check?

Most acts would need a minimum of 45 minutes to set-up and do a quick sound-check. If you require the act to be discreet let us know and we can advise the act to ensure that they are as brief and non-intrusive as possible. You can specify when you would like the act to set-up and sound-check on the booking contract. This can take place up to 2 hours prior to the time of the event. If you require the act to set-up earlier a small hourly charge for the extra time on-site may apply for this.

How loud will the act be?

The act is happy to work within the limits of a sound limiter set at approx 93db or higher. Ideally an act would prefer these to be switched off during the performance as the power cut-off systems employed by most limiters are easily tripped by applause and can cause damage to act’s equipment.

Will I need to provide hospitality?

Acts booked for an event will require refreshments (food and drink) during the event. A buffet-type meal would usually be sufficient. If you or the venue are unable to provide refreshments, please let us know and alternative arrangements can be made.
